About Us.
Care Culture started as a blog with the goal of opening up a dialogue about young women's mental health experiences. We discuss a variety of topics surrounding self-care, personal mental health stories, and the intersectionality between mental health and various socioeconomic factors. Our goal? Destigmatizing mental health challenges through an accessible and non-clinical online platform. Visit our blog at carecultureblog.com.
Our team designed and launched Care Culture merch in order to create a tangible way for people to feel like a part of our community in addition to our online platform. While some people feel that they can express themselves through storytelling and open conversation, others may prefer to silently support. Whether you are sharing your experiences online, talking to a friend, or showing that you care by wearing a sweater, you are working to instigate important conversations.

Why I Care: Having dealt with mental health challenges throughout my teen years, I know how important it is to have a supportive community. Through sharing stories and experiences, providing personal and professional advice, and posting daily tactics to improve wellbeing, my goal is to develop a positive culture in our corner of the internet.

Why I Care: As someone who has close friends and family who have been deeply affected by mental illness, I want to do my part in opening up the conversation. Through creating an online community to share self-care tips and tricks and personal mental health stories, we can work together to improve overall mental wellbeing.
Favourite Self-Care Activity: Doing a face mask and taking a bubble bath!

Why I Care: During my first year at Queen’s, I was overwhelmed with making new friends and managing a heavier workload. I didn't understand how to find balance between doing things that made me feel happy while being productive. I realized that in order for me to work effectively, I need time for self-care.
Favourite Self-Care Activity: Listening to music and cleaning my room!

Why I Care: I have struggled with mental health challenges throughout my life and have also seen my friends and family face their own mental health challenges. I want to spark the conversation around mental health, encourage people to get the support they need, and to not feel ashamed about taking care of themselves.
Favourite Self-Care Activity: Going on a run and cooking!
